When Traffic Dances … Seeing Movement, Understanding Rhythm, Changing the Groove

Traffic is movement through space and change over time – and real-time data makes both visible. In a visual journey using animated maps and time-lapse views, we explore the patterns emerging from millions of movement data points, how traffic pulses throughout the day, and how events or disruptions change its rhythm. But we don’t just observe traffic: through navigation and digital parking guidance, we can use data to actively influence traffic flows and distribute them more efficiently across the network. By closing the feedback loop between data, movement and action, we can move from simply understanding traffic to actively shaping how it flows.

Dr. Jonas Matthias is responsible for technical product development in Smart Mobility at Graphmasters – in particular the design and continuous development of NUNAV Traffic Strategies. The platform connects the NUNAV app with a dynamic routing backend and traffic management centers, processes real-time traffic data and enables targeted control of traffic flow.
